History

It began with one man’s vision and grew into a leading company in handmade premium cigars.

Oettinger Davidoff's history

The story of Oettinger Davidoff began in 1875 when Max Oettinger opened his first specialized cigar store at Eisengasse 9 in Basel.

From there he sold imported cigars, tobacco from the barrel, cigarette tobaccos, pipes and smokers’ supplies to the entire world. By the outbreak of World War I, the enterprise was considered to be one of the three best specialist tobacco shops in Switzerland.

Today, Oettinger Davidoff Group is the world's leading producer of handmade premium cigars.
